Zócalo

Traditional Mexican Zócalo, plus the Plaza de Armas  and an adjacent garden, the Jardin Juarez. Live band music on Sundays. Addr: City Center.

Cathedral de San Francisco

Built by Cortés and part of a former Franciscan  Monastery. Sundays feature a morning and evening Mariachi Mass, not to be missed. Addr: Hidalgo and Morelos.

Borda  Gardens

Originally the home of Jose de la Borda whose mining expertise brought riches to Taxco and later to Cuernavaca. Former home of Emperor Maximilian. Today a gracious park and exhibition hall. Open daily. Addr: Calle  Morelos.

Museo de Cuauhnahuac

he former fortress home of Hernan Cortés. Also known as the Palacio Cortés. Today a State museum, renowned for its historical exhibits and murals by Diego Rivera. Closed Mondays. Addr: Plaza de Armas.

House and Museum Robert Brady

he American artist Robert Brady bought this  Franciscan monastery in the 1960's and filled it with his vast collection of  fine art, Mexican Colonial furniture, fine crafts and Pre-columbian artefacts.  Closed Sun-Wed. Addr: 4 Nezahualcoyotl.

Ethno-botanic museum

this museum is formed by amples gardens and orchards and houses the Traditional Medicine Museum and Ethno-botanic garden

Morelos house museum

Beautiful colonial construction of the 17th. Century. Located in the Main Square of cuautla, this museum relates the history of Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon (the Servant of the Nation)

Revolución del Sur

this museum, located in Tlatizapan, houses an impressive collection of pictures, armaments and clothing of Emiliano Zapata.
