Colonial cities

Colonial Cities are stunning reflections of Mexico's rich history. Most of them have been carefully preserved or restored, and you can wander  around the streets, alleys, plazas and gardens at a leisurely pace, absorbing their authentic atmosphere, serene culture and colourful heritage.

Although not much silver was ever mined there,
Taxco is the place to buy silver in Mexico today as a lot of silver is bought here to be crafted.

Cuernavaca was a favourite 'getaway' spot going back to Aztec times, and still is with Mexico City dwellers today. Puebla, scene of one of Mexico's most famous battles, is a stunning colonial gem with huge Spanish and Moorish influence.

Other colonial cities are a bit too far from Cuernavaca, like for instance Querétaro, Guanajuato, and San Miguel de Allende.
