Colonial Cities are stunning reflections of Mexico's rich history. Most of them have been carefully preserved or restored, and you can
wander around the streets, alleys, plazas and gardens at a leisurely pace, absorbing their authentic atmosphere, serene culture and colourful heritage.
Although not much silver was ever mined there, Taxco is the place to buy silver in Mexico today as a lot of silver is bought here to be crafted.
Cuernavaca was a favourite 'getaway' spot going back to Aztec times, and still is with Mexico City dwellers today. Puebla, scene of one of Mexico's most famous battles, is a
stunning colonial gem with huge Spanish and Moorish influence.
Other colonial cities are a bit too far from Cuernavaca, like for instance Querétaro, Guanajuato, and San Miguel de Allende.
