The strength of Mexican Prehispanic past is ever present throughout Morelos, evident in the many archaeological sites which reflect the power, tradition, mysticism and knowledge of the ancient indigenous civilisations which developed and flourished in this region.

Today, these wonders can be seen and appreciated in museums, monuments, and archaeological sites such as Xochicalco, Teopanzolco, the Tepozteco Pyramid, the ceremonial Center of Las Pilas, Chalcatzingo, Coatetelco, Yautepec, and Olintepec to name just a few of the 800 discovered archaeological zones in Morelos.
