Rustic carved wood furniture and glazed pottery are some of Cuernavaca's best buys. The public market has a good selection of Mexican handicrafts at fair prices, but for unique finds try the speciality shops.

There are many small shopping centers around town, the top three being Plaza Cuernavaca,  Plaza Esmeralda, La Cascada Galerias.

There are also many big supermarkets like for instance Carrefour, Comercial Mexicana, where you can buy all kinds of stuff, from food to clothes. Don't be surprised to see so many small supermarkets called OXXO. They are open 24/24 and are very practical. Their prices are relatively correct as well.

Moreover, if you need medicine, vitamins, don't hesitate to stop at the Farmacia de Ahorros, where almost all medicaments are at best price.

Finally, the most popular stores, Sanborns, are well appreciated in Mexico. It's a nice place either to eat, to buy stuff or to have a look at all magazines, books, and newspapers. Generally, it's open late at night.
