Do not take green street cabs from the airport. Safe and comfortable 'Transportación Terrestre' taxis to/from the airport are reliable and controlled by a fixed-price ticket system.

At the airport, 3 kiosks in the terminal sell 'Transportación Terrestre' tickets: one in Sala E (international arrival), one in Sala A (domestic arrivals), and one in the international baggage-collection area.

You can choose between 'Ordinario' (Sedans) and 'Ejecutivo' (vans) more expensive. The transportation in 'Ordinario' to downtown Mexico-City is divided in zones, as follows:

• Zona 2 (Zócalo) : US$ 8.50 / EUR 8.80 / CHF 12.50
• Zona 3 (Alameda Central) : US$ 10.75 / EUR 11.-- / CHF 16.--
• Zona 4 (Zona Rosa) : US$ 12.-- / EUR 12.30 / CHF 18.--

All prices are for upto 4 persons and luggage that will fit in the trunk of the cab.

The least expensive choice, by far, is the metro (15 cents), but allows no luggage larger than a shoulder bag. Look for the  large M marking the entrance.
